This soap is anything but plain.
It is handmade in Sudbury, Ontario, and is vegetarian/vegan, all natural and environmentally friendly.
These are crafted at home on the kitchen table, which gives each bar a unique, handmade feel.
Best of all, they come in a plethora of yummy scents that smell great and the ingredients are great for your skin. Cranberry/spice, oatmeal/honey, and so many more.
Most soaps you purchase in stores contain parabens (preservatives), artificial fragrances (causes headaches in sensitive people, such as myself.....haha, betcha didn't all know I was a "sensitive" person!) and colours.
Plain Jane Soap contains items you can find in your own kitchen, such as olive oil, canola oil, honey, dried herbs. Best of all, their soaps contain as many local ingredients as possible. You can't beat that!
So where can you get them? Contact them at plainjanesoap [at] gmail.com, or by phone at 705-673-3037. Great gift idea for all those special moms in your life!
Oops, I almost forgot the best part! I am giving away a set of three of these beautiful soaps (they smell so yummy I could almost eat them). All you have to do to enter is tell me something about soap! Contest is open to Canadian residents only. Enter by May 19th to win!

It's almost embarrassing to enter, as I've just won your last giveaway, but there are no comments yet, so I'll get things started!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, something about soap... Ok, first thing that came to mind: it would be great fun this summer to blow soap bubbles with my brother's kids! :)
Oops, forgot to add: the Plain Jane Soaps sound fabulous! I'm bookmarking this post so that I can find them when I feel like indulging in totally luxurious soaps!
ReplyDeleteI also get headaches from many of the soaps on the market today! I would like to try a more natural product!

I've been using natural products for awhile now. I find the scents of usual soaps so overpowering and sickening now. Luckily where I'm hoping to get a job is a scent free workspace. They even keep baking soda boxes in the washrooms instead of using air fresheners and stuff.

ReplyDeleteRecycled Soap??
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother Worth (had 18 children)made her own soap - what the ingredients were I am not sure but I am thinking something along the lines of lye and rendered pig fat ... yikes. Having so many clean little kiddies, she also hated throwing away the small little tiny pieces of dry, cracked up soap. She had this metal basket - aprox 2.5 in x 2.5 in - that closed like a hinged box - with a long metal handle on it. In there she would place all those tiny pieces of soap and use them till there was absolutely nothing left. I imagine she would swish it around in the tub.
I still have this metal contraption for recycling soap, a wonderful gift from Grandma.
This soap would be great for my whole family to use. I really try to stay away from harsh soaps with heavy deodorants, so these would be nice to try.
