... for the Green Log Awards. Kinda like the Grammys, but not so posh, not so dressy, not so- ok, nothing like the Grammys. But everyone likes awards, right?
The GREEN LOG Homes & Lifestyle Awards™ program was created in response
to the growing demand for green building solutions, products, and
information. The goal of the awards is to locate and shine a spotlight on
those companies and individuals who are enabling healthier homes and
lifestyles. The GREEN LOG Homes & Lifestyle Awards™ program was founded
by the non-profit organization, Green Log Awards, Inc.
What a fantastic idea! I immediately thought of the Canadian company Cansolair (see my Cansolair reviews and stories in past posts) and decided to nominate them.
Past winners and honourable mentions of the Green Log Awards include Idaho Blue, which is a company which creates home insulation from denim (that's right, the stuff your jeans are made out of), and WaterFurnace, which is a company involved with geothermal heating systems. There are many categories such as building materials, home furnishings, yard and garden, even product and information websites and blogs.
The deadline for nominations is March 31, 2009. Be sure and nominate your favourite green company. While you are visiting the site, you can review some of the businesses from last year's awards and see some cutting edge ideas in the green building industry.
Later, after nominations are closed, you will get a chance to vote on the companies that you feel are deserving of the Green Log Awards.
Gee, if only we could nominate and decide the Grammys...
